Michael K. McCarty, the Gourmangel, has more than 20 years experience in the culinary arts. During his long and varied career, Mike has served in some of the finest restaurants and clubs both in the United States and internationally.


Mike posseses rare artistic skill, and he applies it in the preparation of culinary masterpieces that are as beautiful to look at as they are a treat to the palate. His artistic creativity, attention to detail, and quest for perfection have led to the honor of preparing culinary creations for a former President of the United States as well as various international heads of state. But it isn't just VIPs for which he performs his culinary artistry. Mike brings the same expert preparation and artistic presentation techniques that have impressed world dignataries to his daily clientelle. There is no room for shortcuts in the world of the Gourmangel.

Mike knows well the crafts of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef and the Gard Manger and has served in these roles in some of the finest private clubs, restaurants and Hotels. These include the prestigious Pacific Club in Newport Beach, the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, Le Biarritz restaurant in Newport Beach, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel and the Big Easy restaurant in Munich, Germany. Mike is currently the Executive Sous Chef at the Old Ranch Golf and Country Club in Seal Beach, California.
